Newhall Park
Newhall Park is located on Main Street, Newhall, Swadlincote, Derbyshire, DE11 0TW and has been improved over the past few years in conjunction with the Friends of Newhall Park.
It offers a pleasant green space for local residents, offering opportunities for sport and informal play.
It is open from dawn until dusk and has:
- a crown bowling green
- children’s playground
- full size football pitch
- multi-use games area
- skate park
- changing facilities
- outdoor gym
- memorial garden
Friends of Newhall Park
Membership is open to all residents of the local community and partner organisations are invited to meetings. The group meets four times a year at The Old Post Centre in Newhall.
The activities of the group have included:
- tree and bulb planting
- painting buildings
- litter picking
- fundraising
- public consultation
- organising funds and commissioning outdoor gym facilities
- providing picnic benches
- trying to involve more local people in the future of the park.
