Recruitment and selection
Our Recruitment and Selection Policy (pdf, 421kb) explains the process and procedures that we follow when recruiting for positions.
The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) helps employers make safer recruitment decisions and prevent unsuitable people from working with vulnerable groups, including children.
Some posts require a check from the DBS. This will be identified on the job advertisement and necessary information will be provided within the terms and conditions in the application pack.
Information on your job application form may be held both on manual records or computer systems. This will be held in line with the Data Protection Act 2018.
We actively promote equality of opportunity for all and applications are welcomed from a wide range of candidates, including those with a criminal record. Throughout the recruitment process we will comply with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) 1974. For further information, read our Policy Statement on the Recruitment of Ex-offenders. Read our updated our Pensions Discretions Policy (pdf, 289kb) as per by the Local Government Pension Scheme.
