2024 Polling District, Polling Places and Polling Station Review

The Electoral Registration and Administration Act 2023 requires South Derbyshire District Council (The Council) to complete a review of parliamentary polling districts, polling places and polling stations by 31 January 2025.

The purpose of the Review is to ensure that, so far as is practicable in the circumstances a) all electors in the constituencies in the District have such reasonable facilities for voting and b) every polling place is accessible to electors who are disabled.

The Council has commenced the Review and it will follow the timetable below:

21 October 2024

Deadline for receipt of all comments on the Review

25 November 2024

Issue and publication of the Returning Officer’s comments and proposals

23 December 2024

Deadline for receipt of public comments on the Returning Officer’s comments and proposals

16 January 2025

Submission of final proposals to Council

3 February 2025

Publish revised Electoral Register incorporating changes from the Review.

The Council welcomes representations from all residents in the District and in particular residents with disabilities, or any person or body with expertise in access for persons with disabilities.

The Returning Officer will consider all representations received and her proposals will be published here on 25 November 2024.

You will be given an opportunity to make further representations on those proposals before the final proposals are considered by the meeting of Council on 16 January 2025.
