Swadlincote town centre pedestrian zone
Swadlincote town centre is designated as a Pedestrian Zone and therefore has some specific access restrictions. The restrictions depend on the type of vehicle you are in;
Disabled Blue Badge Holders
- Can park anywhere in the Pedestrian Zone with the exception of High Street as long as they are not causing an obstruction
- Can park for a maximum of 3 hours and must display the required badge and clock
- Can park on High Street after 4pm and before 10pm as long as they are not causing an obstruction
- Can use the bays on West Street, but not the marked Community Bus space
Vehicles making a delivery
- Can deliver after 4pm and before 10pm
- Should use rear service yards when possible
- Should park and unload in the carriageway and avoid riding on to pavements
- Are encouraged to use the dedicated bay on Midland Road / Belmont Street next to The Delph.
Other vehicles
Any vehicle can drive through and park in the Pedestrian Zone streets after 6pm and before 8am as long as they are not causing an obstruction
Exceptions apply to emergency service vehicles, security vehicles, Royal mail and postal vehicles and temporary permit holder.
