Past consultations on the Local Plan Part 1
Sustainability Appraisal addendum
The South Derbyshire Part 1 Local Plan is being developed alongside a process of Sustainability Appraisal (SA), a legally required process that aims to ensure that the likely significant effects of an emerging draft plan (and reasonable alternatives) are systematically considered and communicated. It is a requirement that SA is undertaken in line with the procedures prescribed by the Environmental Assessment of Plans and Programmes Regulations (the ‘SEA Regulations’) 2004.
The Part 1 Local Plan was submitted, together with our Evidence Base, to the Secretary of State on August 8, 2014. A key part of our evidence is the Sustainability Appraisal of the plan.
Following a joint session for housing held on the first day of examination hearings, the joint inspectors advised the two authorities to re-examine their planned apportionments of the city’s unmet need and carry out a fresh joint sustainability appraisal of this matter.
The addendum below sets out alternatives for distributing the city’s unmet need, as well as a joint appraisal of the likely effects of these options to meet the joint inspectors’ request. The addendum was published for consultation between Friday, August 28, 2015 and Monday, October 12 2015.
