Past consultations on the Local Plan Part 1

Main Modifications consultation Local Plan Part 1

We are currently receiving a high number of planning applications which is resulting in delays to our usual response times. We are determining applications and responding to enquiries in the order they are received. We will respond as soon as possible.

The South Derbyshire Local Plan Part 1 was submitted to the Secretary of State for Examination in August 2014.  

The Main Modifications consultation on the Local Plan Part 1 ran from January 29, 2016 to 5pm on April 13, 2016.

The examination hearing sessions took place in November/December 2014 and December 2015. There was also a joint Derby Housing Market Area (South Derbyshire, Amber Valley and Derby City) hearing session on October 23, 2015. The Inspector wrote to us to confirm the examination can proceed to the consultation on the Main Modifications.

The Inspector invited comments on the Main Modifications to the South Derbyshire District Council Local Plan Part 1 Submission Version of March 2014.

Main Modifications are those which the Inspector considers are necessary to make the plan sound and/ or legally compliant

Representations were in regards to legal compliance and soundness. It was not an opportunity to raise again matters relating to other parts of the submitted plan that have already been considered by the Inspector during the examination. The Inspector only considered representations from this consultation which relate to the Main Modifications.

  • Sustainability Appraisal Modifications update January 2016

We also published a schedule of Additional Modifications which are minor changes to update the plan, to correct errors and to provide clarification in interpreting policies in the plan. They did not relate to the soundness/legal compliance of the plan. These are published alongside the Main Modifications for the sake of clarity, but representations are not being sought on them.
