Call For Sites Consultation
Between 3rd October and 12th December 2019 the Council will be undertaking a ‘Call for Sites’ in which developers, landowners and members of the public are invited to put forward potential sites for development of any use, including more than one use.
As part of the Local Plan review process South Derbyshire District Council is undertaking a Strategic Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (SHELAA). A SHELAA seeks to find additional land for housing, including Gypsy and Traveller sites and affordable housing, and economic uses. Any sites submitted during the ‘Call for Sites’ will be assessed through the SHELAA.
The SHELAA is an important source of evidence to inform plan-making, and it is the role of the SHELAA to provide information on the range of sites which are available to be developed. The SHELAA is as an evidence document only and does not in itself allocate land for any specific purposes; allocations will be determined through the Local Plan.
If you wish to put forward a potential site for development, please complete a Call For Sites Suggestion Form. A separate form should be completed for each site. Forms should include as much information as possible, and a Location Plan should be attached. Without a Location Plan it will not be possible to register the site for further consideration.
For any queries about the process or completing the form, please contact the Planning Policy Team on 01283 595752 or 01283 228735 or by using the email address below.
