Accessibility Workshop: how to access your share of £121 billion - January 30, 2019

The Purple Pound The Purple Pound

Every business wants to attract and retain new business. The key to this is understanding the needs of potential customers, knowing how to welcome them and being expert in exceeding their expectations.

Whilst many businesses feel that they know all there is to know about delivering an exceptional customer experience, there is a huge and growing market of consumers whose needs are not always well understood: a market comprising of 13 million people and worth £12.1 billion pounds per annum.

That market is 'accessible tourism.'

But what does 'accessible tourism' actually mean?

Did you know that:

  • Less than 10% of disabled people use a wheelchair? So, accessibility is about far more than providing level access.
  • 95% of disabled tourists will try to find access information about your venue before they visit you?  Which means that having the right information on your website in the right place is key.
  • 86% will make a return visit if they have a good experience with you? So, by getting it right you will develop a loyal base of repeat customers.

AND, whilst you might think that improving access is expensive, improving your accessibility needn't cost you a penny!

In addition, with the UK just announcing its intention to be the accessible tourism capital of the world, the time to develop your skills and knowledge to be ahead of the game is NOW!

Come along to this unique and dynamic workshop, delivered by two of the UK's leading accessible tourism experts which demystifies accessible tourism and gives you the practical hints, tips and tools you need to help YOUR businesses create a warm welcome for ALL!
