Winter Fuel Payments 2024/25

From this winter, the winter fuel payment allowance is no longer available to all pensioners. It is however available to those who receive Pension Credits, and meet the other basic conditions of entitlement. https://www.gov.uk/winter-fuel-payment

For those in receipt of Pension Credits, payment will be automatic as in previous years.

If you don’t currently receive Pension Credits, we encourage you to check entitlement.

You may increase your likelihood of receiving Pension Credit if you are in receipt of Attendance Allowance. This is because Attendance Allowance increases the amount the government says you need to live off each week. You can make a claim for Attendance Allowance here https://www.gov.uk/attendance-allowance

The latest date you can be in receipt of Pension Credits from is 23 September 2024 but you can make a backdated claim up to 21 December 2024 and if you become entitled from 23 September 2024, you will then go on to receive the winter fuel payment.

Even if you miss the deadlines for this years payment, we encourage you to make a claim for Attendance Allowance and/or Pension Credits as soon as possible as this may give you additional support each week
