Derbyshire County Council casual vacancy

Following the death of County Councillor Roger Redfern, a casual vacancy has been declared in the Swadlincote South electoral division.

A by-election will be held if a request is made by two electors in the Derbyshire area. For more information, see the notice of vacancy.

Roger Redfern also served as a South Derbyshire District councillor until the recent local elections serving as a member of the Housing and Community Services, Planning, Environmental and Development Services and Licensing Committees.

He was landlord of the Miners Arms in Church Gresley for 35 years and died in his pub on 21 June. His funeral will take place at Bretby Crematorium on Friday 21 July, 2.15pm with a reception following the service at the Miners Arms.
