Self-employment to be explained at virtual event
Would-be entrepreneurs in South Derbyshire are being encouraged to embark on their business journey with a free virtual event.
The ‘Thinking of Starting a Business’ event is aimed at people who are considering running their own business or have recently become self-employed.
South Derbyshire Business Advice Service will focus on the essentials required to be business-ready. Attendees can expect to get a better understanding of topics such as legal structures, tax, insurance, finding premises, marketing, skills to support a new venture and finance, including grants and loans to get started.
David Richards, Business Adviser at the South Derbyshire Business Advice Service, said: “This is a great opportunity for individuals and businesses to delve into the wealth of skills, expert advice and guidance that’s on offer.
“These events have helped hundreds of new businesses get off on the right foot, from car valeting to manufacturing. We hope that someone attending this latest course will provide us with the next success story.”
Budding entrepreneurs looking to make the right moves are invited to join the virtual workshop on Tuesday 12 October between 4:30pm – 7:00pm
Councillor Kevin Richards, Leader of South Derbyshire District Council added: “It’s great to be delivering events and start-up support like this. The Council wants to offer residents all the support we can - whether this is helping people enter full-time employment for the first time, re-training or pursuing their own business venture.
“Encouraging entrepreneurial skills is a valuable part of ensuring our District continues to be a great place to live, visit and invest.”
Those interested in attending the free event need to book in advance and will be sent a link to join the webinar. Attendees just need access to the internet to attend the event – they do not need any special IT equipment and do not need to download any software.
Places can be reserved by completing the online form – or go to business news for further information.
