Bin collections update - Tuesday 26 January
Last updated: Tuesday 26 January, 1pm
All bin collections remain suspended in South Derbyshire today due to the snow and icy conditions.
We hope to resume collections tomorrow.
Black bins that were due to be collected on Monday or Tuesday will be collected from Wednesday onwards. If your black bin is due to be collected on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday this week, please leave it out for 6am on Wednesday morning and leave it out until it is emptied. For collections from Thursday or Friday, please leave your black bin out for 6am on the usual collection day and leave it until it is emptied. All black bins due to be emptied this week should have been collected by Friday.
Please note – we are not able to accept any extra bags of waste with your black bin.
Brown bins collections will begin again from Wednesday. If your brown bin was due to be collected on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, please leave it out from 6am on Wednesday and leave until it is emptied. For collections from Thursday or Friday, please leave your brown bin out for 6am on the usual collection day and leave it until it is emptied. All brown bins due to be emptied this week should have been collected by Saturday.
Green bin collections will begin again from Wednesday. Please leave out your green bin on its usual collection day.
Green bin collections which were due to take place on Monday or Tuesday have been cancelled and will be collected as usual on the next scheduled collection day. We will collect extra recycling with your next green bin collection day. Please place cardboard next to your green bin and other mixed recycling in a small box (no bigger than the size of the caddy inside the bin) next to your green bin on its next collection day. There is no limit to the number of extra boxes of recycling that you can leave with your geen bin.
Thank you for your patience.
