Christmas cracker of a shopping day!

There are even more reasons than usual to go shopping in Swadlincote on Saturday (December 7), with Small Business Saturday stalls, some seasonal and crafty additions to the regular market, and free entertainment to enjoy!

As people go about the sometimes-serious business of Christmas shopping, they can have some fun by joining in a treasure hunt in which every completed entry will receive a Christmas treat and all will be entered into a prize draw with some great prizes.

To take part, help Santa find Christmas presents for Mrs Claus. Pick up an entry form from the SwadStyle stand at the Small Business Saturday Market and explore the town centre’s festive shop window displays to find all the items on Santa’s List.

Children can have their faces painted for free while adults enjoy listening to live performances featuring seasonal classics.

Among the businesses and organisations that will be in town for Small Business Saturday are Luxuriously Be-You-Tiful (Body Shop at Home), Truly Collectibles of Ashby, Joanna’s Bookshop and SwadStyle.

Small Business Saturday offers the opportunity to celebrate, support and promote small businesses from the area, as well as to find a great variety of gifts, foods, goods and services. These stalls will be at the Church Street end of High Street,

Joining the regular market - which has seen some new regular additions recently – will be stalls offering Christmas decorations, crafts, cakes and fudge.

A Caribbean food stall will mean visitors can enjoy some tantalising dishes during their visit.

The fun starts at 9am and continues until 3pm. Parking in Swadlincote is free of charge and with a great range of high street stores as well as the Christmas and Small Business markets, this is definitely one not to miss.
