Youngsters all set for that Friday feeling
The popular Friday Night Project, aimed at 11 to 16 year olds, is back – and it’s set to be bigger and better than ever.
Youngsters who are interested in chilling out, socialising with friends and taking part in fun activities are invited to get involved.
The popular partner initiative relaunches at Green Bank Leisure Centre in Swadlincote on Friday, September 21.
Attendees can take part in football, dodgeball, table tennis, video games, gym and dance sessions and much more.
There is chance to test out your skills on the APEX climbing wall, which features a variety of designs and difficulties.
A chill out zone with light refreshments will also be on hand between 7pm and 9pm during term time. There is no need to book, just turn up with £1.
Cllr Martyn Ford, Leader of South Derbyshire District Council, said:
“The Friday Night Project gives everyone a safe place to socialise with friends and take part in different activities to keep them fit and active.
"All activities will be overseen by instructors and will take place indoors, which is particularly good during the winter months.
"With a packed programme of activities to try your hand at, Friday nights are most definitely alright in South Derbyshire.”
The Project, which will run every Friday during term time, is supported by South Derbyshire District Council, Active South Derbyshire, Derby County Community Trust and Derbyshire County Council.
