Open meetings designed to get residents involved with their community

Area Forums Area Forums

Residents within South Derbyshire are being invited to have their say and hear more about key issues in their community.

Safer Neighbourhood meetings are hosted by the local Police Safer Neighbourhood Team and the Council Area Forum meetings are hosted by South Derbyshire District Council. Both provide people with the opportunity to discuss and listen to any key updates within their neighbourhood.

The Police Safer Neighbourhood Team meetings are designed to focus on local issues and crime hotspots in the area. Residents will also be able to hear from their local Police Safer Neighbourhood Team about enforcement action that has been taken in their area.

Following this, the Council Area Forum meetings are open for residents to speak to a representative from the District Council where they can raise any issues that are affecting them or their local communities. Senior Directors from South Derbyshire District Council will be at the sessions, giving residents the opportunity to ask questions about issues that matter to them. County Councillors will also be attending the meetings to gain a better insight into communities.

The Police Safer Neighbourhood meetings start at 6.15pm, followed by the Council Area Forum at 7.30pm.

“Residents are at the heart of our District. The Area Forum and The Police Safer Neighbourhood Team meetings in South Derbyshire are an excellent way to keep residents informed about their neighbourhood. We will work with partners to strengthen the community and bring local people together.

“They provide a platform for Police Safer Neighbourhood team and South Derbyshire District Council to come together and listen to residents’ concerns.

“We hope that residents will come along and have their say towards further improving their community as well as being kept up to date with local projects and initiatives.”
