Celebrating the success of sporting superstars

Unsung sporting heroes are set to be recognised in a celebration of success, determination and perseverance.

Nominations for dedicated volunteers, coaches, community projects and talented athletes from across South Derbyshire are now being invited.

Winners in a range of categories will be rewarded at the South Derbyshire Sports Awards ceremony at The Pingle Academy on Wednesday, October 17.

Martyn Ford, Leader of South Derbyshire District Council, said:

“We are so excited to celebrate sporting heroes who go above and beyond for their passion. It’s important to also recognise and thank those who have been working behind the scenes to ensure that athletes’ efforts are delivering results and inspiring others.

“The sports awards offer a fantastic opportunity to celebrate local sporting achievements. Show everyone involved how much their efforts mean to you and the local community by nominating.”
