Vote for park award

A South Derbyshire park has a chance of being named one of the top ten in the country.

Maurice Lea Memorial Park in Church Gresley is open all year round and is used by Junior Parkrun, local health groups, schools, sports clubs and local residents, who go there to take part in one of the many organised activities, or kick a ball around, play on the swings or listen to the birds and relax.

Hundreds of people also flock there each year for major events including the Festival of Leisure and Play Day.

It was awarded a Green Flag for the third year in succession in July this year which means it qualifies for entry to the People’s Choice award.

Green Flag Award’s People's Choice award gives people a chance to vote for Maurice Lea as their favourite award-winning park.

The vote for the prestigious awards will close on Saturday, 30 September 2017. The ten most popular parks and green spaces in the UK will be announced in October.
