Put down the remote and try something new
Those fed up of Flog It and bored of Bargain Hunt are being invited to a free, fun social event at a South Derbyshire community hub.
The popular daytime shows will play second fiddle to an afternoon extravaganza taking place at Gresley Old Hall, in Gresley Wood Road on Friday, October 20.
There will be old style games, bowls taster sessions, a chance to learn about computers and the internet, pottery, arts and crafts, local history videos and tea, coffee and cake.
Cllr Bob Wheeler, Leader of South Derbyshire District Council, said:
“The aim of the day is to get people out and about to make new friends and take part in free activities.
“There is a strong line up of activities for everyone to enjoy and we hope the community will come together to see what’s on offer.”
The event, organised by the District Council, South Derbyshire CVS and Gresley Old Hall Bowls Club, will take place between 2pm and 5pm.
Transport to and from the venue is available. Spaces are limited so booking is essential. For more information, email bookings@sdcvs.org.uk or telephone 01283 219761.
