Frequently asked FOI data

Every year we received hundreds of FOIs asking for the same data. So to help us safeguard public funds and to get you the information you need as quickly as possible, we publish commonly asked FOIs on this page.

We publish the data sets at set points throughout the year, and in between these dates, we do not publish interim updates.

We also receive lots of FOIs we can’t answer, and this page lists those as well, including FOIs about cyber security, our business rates credit balance and services provided by other councils. We also can’t release personal or commercially sensitive information, or information that could jeopardise the health, safety or security of the council, its employees, systems, services or property.

Private Hire Vehicle Register

Please note, the Council does not provide the vehicle recognition marks/licence plate numbers (VRM’s) within the register. These are withheld on the basis that section 40(2) (personal data) and section 31(1)(a) (prevention and detection of crime) of the Freedom of Information Act (2000) apply.

Private Hire Drivers Register

The private hire driver's licence register can be found on the Licensing Public Register Page here.

Cyber security

Following guidance from the Cyber & Government Security Directorate, under section 17(4) and section 31(3) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, we will not confirm or deny whether information requested on our cyber security events exists, or is held by us. To do otherwise would compromise the council's information security strategies by giving cyber criminals insight into vulnerabilities which may, or may not, exist.
