Everything is set for a music-filled, sleigh-driven, sparkling Christmas lights switch on in Swadlincote on Friday 29 November.

The day’s programme is outlined below and will bring together school choirs, Santa and his sleigh, mince pies, stilt-walking Elves, hot mulled wine, fireworks and most importantly, the switching on of the Christmas lights:

2.00pm   Elmsleigh Infant and Nursery School

2.30pm   Fairmeadows Foundation Primary School    

4.00pm   Belmont Primary School

5.00pm   The Foster Brothers

5.20pm   Mitch Corner

5.40pm   April Davies

6.00pm   Best Dressed Window Presentations

6.05pm   Kirby

6.25pm   The Dark Horses

6.50pm   Greetings from the Chairman of South Derbyshire District Council

7.00pm   Fireworks Display & Switch-on of Xmas Lights with Charles Hanson (Bargain Hunt, Flog It!)

7.10pm   Salvation Army Band

There are lots more activities taking place around the town.
