Swadlincote Remembrance Day Service and Parade
The Royal British Legion and the 1211 (Swadlincote and District) Squadron ATC together with other uniformed groups and members of the public, will assemble and parade through Swadlincote town centre to the memorial gates at Eureka Park on Midland Road.
A short service of commemoration will take place outside the gates at 10.50am.
The Last Post will be followed by 2 minutes silence at 11.00am, after which there will be a formal wreath laying.
If you would like to lay your own tribute, the new Memorial Garden inside the gates will be open for you to pause a while and place a cross, wreath, flowers or even a Derbyshire rock as a reminder of your loved ones.
There will be a short Service of Remembrance on Armistice Day (Friday 11 November) on the Delph, outside Swadlincote Town Hall. The Remembrance Sunday (Sunday 13 November) parade will start in Swadlincote High Street and culminate in an outdoor service and wreath laying at the Memorial Gates at Eureka Park
This will be the first parade residents can take part in for two years due to the prior Covid-19 restrictions in place.
There will also be two indoor evening services on Remembrance Sunday - one at the Salvation Army Citadel on Wilmot Road, Church Gresley at 5.00pm and the other at Emmanuel Church, Church Street, Swadlincote at 6.30pm.”
