Derby HMA Options for Growth

We are currently receiving a high number of planning applications which is resulting in delays to our usual response times. We are determining applications and responding to enquiries in the order they are received. We will respond as soon as possible.

The 'Derby Housing Market Area (HMA) Options for Housing Growth' consultation ran between July 12 and September 30, 2011 and was the fourth stage of consultation on the Local Plan Part 1.

During 2011 the Localism Act was being proposed and it was expected that regional targets, setting out the amount of new homes to be built within the East Midlands Regional Plan, would be abolished. We, therefore, needed to reconsider how much development should take place in the Derby HMA up to 2028 and where it should be located. The Options for Housing Growth consultation set out options for dealing with this matter.

The responses to the consultation can be found here.
