Draft Planning Obligations SPD Consultation

The Council is consulting on a draft Planning Obligations Supplementary Planning Document (SPD). The SPD is to inform developers, landowners, infrastructure providers, stakeholders/partners and local communities of the Council’s expectations for securing planning obligations (also known as Section 106 contributions).  Through planning obligations, affordable housing and community and strategic infrastructure necessitated by new development is provided.

In accordance with Regulation 13 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012 (the Regulations), South Derbyshire District Council is required to publicise the Planning Obligations SPD and invite comments from organisations and individuals.  The consultation will begin on Friday 20 May, closing at 5pm on Monday 27 June 2022

Responses should be submitted using the prescribed Representation Form (docx, 288kb)

The Council will endeavour to make paper copies of the SPD available to view within the following libraries (subject to libraries reopening/remaining open):

Following the consultation, the representations received will be considered and amendments made to the SPD as required.  In accordance with Regulation 12 of the Regulations, the main issues raised by respondents and how they have been addressed, will be summarised in a Consultation Statement prior to the formal adoption of the SPD.
