Swadlincote Townscape Schools

If the buildings of Swadlincote could talk, they would have some story to tell.

Bristling with character, they represent a powerful connection to the town’s Victorian heritage.

Their tales and traditions are now being brought to life, thanks to the Swadlincote Townscape Heritage Scheme.

Schools can take part in fun learning activities about history, science, art, technology and much more besides.

From geocaching to media sessions to becoming ‘building detectives’, there is plenty to keep KS1-3 pupils informed and entertained.

A run through of all sessions available, along with prices, can be found in our leaflet for schools (pdf, 1.9mb).

All activities are outdoors, whatever the weather, unless stated otherwise. Sessions can be led or self-led and can be combined to create a full day.

You can access the self-led documents including a glossary of architectural features in Swadlincote in the related documents section on this page.

Unless stated, all activity enquiries and bookings are done by telephoning 01283 535039 or emailing rosliston@southderbyshire.gov.uk.

Find Swadlincote Townscape on Facebook. There is also a Facebook group for school staff interested in outdoor learning.
