New business grants launched

D2N2 Business Investment Fund
The D2N2 Business Investment Fund is available to support small and medium sized enterprises with projects that will directly improve their productivity, efficiency or job creation. The fund will support projects such as digital developments, specialist consultancy and equipment purchases. It is important to note that only applications that clearly show a step-change in the business activity will be supported. This grant will not support ‘new-for-old’ replacements. Grants of between £3,500 and £20,000 are available and will contribute up to a maximum of 35% of the project costs. Applicants will need to adhere to a financial assessment, provide quotes for purchases and must defray expenditure before claiming the grant. D2N2 Capital Growth Fund
The D2N2 Capital Growth Fund offers capital grant support to small and medium-sized enterprises undertaking investment, with grant funding of between £1,500 and £10,000 available up to a maximum of 30% of eligible project costs. The Fund can cover capital costs, for example machinery, equipment, IT hardware but cannot support vehicle purchases. It will not cover revenue costs such as wages, rent, marketing or general running costs. Businesses must be able to demonstrate that they are already trading and that the project will enable employment growth. For further information, please go to:

DE-Carbonise Project
The DE-Carbonise project can help small and medium-sized enterprises reduce carbon emissions, save costs and become more sustainable. It offers: Free on-site carbon reduction surveys, with a member of the DE-Carbonise team visiting your business to identify opportunities to reduce carbon emissions at your premises - this could include more efficient lighting, insulation, heating/cooling systems, compressors, motors, process equipment, renewable energy, resource efficiency, waste reduction, low carbon transport, staff behaviour change and operational improvements; Grants of between £1,000 and £20,000 are available to support carbon reduction measures - the grant covers up to 40% of the total cost of works (excluding VAT), depending on the carbon saving; and, Technical and research support for product and process carbon reduction - businesses can receive further technical support, consultancy and process improvements based on recommendations from the carbon reduction report.
