Those planning the second Swadlincote Wedding Fair are promising that this year’s event will be a must-see for all couples planning to tie the knot.

Whether it’s hair and beauty, flowers, dresses, entertainment, vehicle hire or venues, specialists are wanted to come together to transform the town centre into a one-stop shop of products, services and advice for all things wedding-related.

Businesses are now being urged to sign up to showcase their services and help make the event even bigger and better than in 2016, when more than 60 organisations took part.

Organised by Swadlincote Town Team with the support of South Derbyshire District Council, there will be catwalk shows in the town hall, a Follow Your Heart Trail for couples to find their way about town, tasters and lots more.

Last year, stores up and down the High Street pulled out all the stops with window and street displays.

Cllr Bob Wheeler, Leader of the District council, said: “The aim for this year’s wedding fair is to attract even more people to Swadlincote and give future wedded couples a wide variety of options available within South Derbyshire and beyond.

“It is the perfect opportunity for local businesses to showcase exactly what they can offer.”

Swadlincote Town Team is a group of businesses, organisations, volunteers and residents who are working together to promote the vibrancy and prosperity of the town centre.

The wedding fair will take place between 11am and 4pm on Sunday 2 April 2017. Any business wishing to take part can sign up to the Swadlincote Wedding Fair on Eventbrite
