Final call for South Derbyshire grant applications

grants grants

Businesses and community organisations in South Derbyshire have a final opportunity to apply for grants from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

The fund is now in its final year, with applications invited for the remaining grant funds.

Over the last year, thousands of pounds in grants have been awarded, supporting numerous projects including two businesses investing in new machine tools, a community organisation acquiring new IT equipment, two engineering companies purchasing 3D scanners, a catering company diversifying into food production, a village hall installing solar panels, a company acquiring digital printing equipment, the refurbishment of a community centre, the development of overnight visitor accommodation, and a bowls club purchasing new equipment.

Businesses can be assisted to increase their productivity, purchase equipment, introduce new processes or techniques, start or grow exports, and introduce new products or services.

Community organisations can be assisted to purchase equipment, improve their premises, or create volunteering opportunities. Grants can also be used to make premises or activities more energy efficient, or to generate or store electricity.

Councillor Robert Pearson, Leader of South Derbyshire District Council said: “The fund has been able to support some great projects in South Derbyshire. I urge any business or community organisation thinking about applying to get in touch with the Council with their project ideas as soon as possible.”
