A full review of South Derbyshire District Council’s pest control service is currently underway, as a result of which the Council is not able to provide a pest control service until further notice.

The Council does not have a statutory duty to treat for pests but is aware that the public, elected members, and its staff value the service.

All options for future delivery of a service are being reviewed, as the Council wants to continue to ensure that residents of South Derbyshire can access a service that offers excellent value for money and remains commercially competitive.

We are exploring how best to support our communities in the interim and are contacting neighbouring authorities who have indicated they may be able to provide cover. An update will be provided in due course.
