Thinking of Starting a Business and Marketing Workshops
Would-be entrepreneurs in South Derbyshire are being encouraged to embark on their business journey with two new free events.
A “Thinking of Starting a Business?” workshop will be held on Monday 15 May 2023 at the Swadlincote Innovation Centre (at Bob Wheeler House, George Holmes Business Park, Swadlincote, DE11 9DF).
The ‘Thinking of Starting a Business’ event is aimed at people who are contemplating running their own business or have recently become self-employed.
South Derbyshire Business Advice Service will focus on the essentials required to be business-ready. Attendees can expect to get a better understanding of topics such as legal structures, tax, insurance, finding premises, skills to support a new venture and finance, including grants and loans that may be available to get started.
David Richards, Business Adviser at the South Derbyshire Business Advice Service, said: “This is a great opportunity for individuals and new businesses to delve into the wealth of skills, expert advice and guidance that’s on offer.
“These events have helped hundreds of new businesses get off on the right foot, from car valeting to manufacturing. We hope that someone attending this latest course will provide us with the next success story.”
Budding entrepreneurs looking to make the right moves are invited to the Swadlincote Innovation Centre from 5:30pm – 8:00pm on Monday 15 May 2023.
A marketing workshop is also to held – providing an introduction to marketing for new and recently established businesses – on Monday 22 May 2023 also at the Swadlincote Innovation Centre, from 5:30pm – 7:30pm.
This will help attendees to: Define their marketing goals; Identify their target audience; Choose a social media platform; Learn from best practices for online business growth; Create a manageable content marketing strategy; Engage in networking and blogging for business; and find useful resources.
Although the events are free, places are limited so those interested in attending are being urged to book early to secure their place.
