Swadlincote’s Festive Fun Day
After the success of the recent Christmas lights switch-on, the council is excited to extend a yuletide invitation to come along and enjoy a day filled with festive cheer and entertainment in Swadlincote town centre.
This Saturday (9 December) from 10am to 2pm, the free-to-attend ‘Festive Fun Day’ promises enchanting activities suitable for the entire family.
Embark on a charming journey aboard the Festive Land Train while passing by the beautifully adorned shop windows, and capture heartwarming moments with Santa and the Christmas Elf in their merry Christmas Grotto.
Magical stilt-walking reindeer will roam the town centre with the joyous backdrop of the Melbourne Town Band performing live Christmas music. You will also be able to experience the whimsy of the Magical Musical Bike - enjoy a mobile Christmas disco offering games and entertainment. Indulge in glitter tattoos, participate in festive games, and have a go at winning exciting prizes.
It is the final day of the Rudolph Trail. Pick up your Trail Map from the Visitor Information Centre, 1 High Street, and find Rudolph peeping out from 12 of our town centre businesses. When you have collected a stamp from each business, return to the information centre to receive a small gift and enter the main prize draw.
Visitors will also be able to secure Christmas essentials from Swadlincote’s traditional market traders and browse the town’s many independent shops for gifts.
Despite uncertainty over the weather forecast, the event will go ahead, so come along and enjoy some festive fun.
