Newhall's new play area opens
After a total refurbishment, the older children’s play area in Newhall Park was officially re-opened earlier on today by South Derbsyshire District Council's Chairman, Cllr Paul Dunn.
The area now boasts eight brand-new pieces of play equipment, with the new zip wire proving a very popular hit.
During the short opening ceremony, special mention was made to the late Barry Woods (who was the Chair of Friends of Newhall Park) and his life-long dedication to improve Newhall Park for the local people. The older children’s play area refurbishment was the last project Barry was eager to complete.
The play area investment came from Council S106 money and Capital Bid Funding and totalled £80,000.
