Self-employment to be explained at the first face-to-face event since February 2020
Would-be entrepreneurs in South Derbyshire are being encouraged to embark on their business journey with a free event.
The ‘Thinking of Starting a Business’ event is aimed at people who are considering running their own business or have recently become self-employed. South Derbyshire Business Advice Service will focus on the essentials required to be business-ready. Attendees can expect to get a better understanding of topics such as legal structures, tax, insurance, finding premises, marketing, skills to support a new venture and finance, including grants and loans to get started.
David Richards, Business Adviser at the South Derbyshire Business Advice Service, said: “This is a great opportunity for individuals and businesses to delve into the wealth of skills, expert advice and guidance that’s on offer.
“These events have helped hundreds of new businesses get off on the right foot, from car valeting to manufacturing. We hope that someone attending this latest course will provide us with the next success story.
“The return of face-to-face events is very welcome, with the greater opportunities for attendees to meet others thinking of starting a business.”
This will be the first event held at the new Swadlincote Innovation Centre, located at Bob Wheeler House on the George Holmes Business Park off Hearthcote Road. Attendees will have the chance to visit the Centre which offers entrepreneurs and small businesses affordable office premises, with access to shared facilities including a boardroom, and support in the early stages of their business journey.
Budding entrepreneurs looking to make the right moves are invited to join the workshop on Tuesday 7 June between 5:30pm – 8:00pm. Those interested in attending the free event need to book in advance.
