Facilities to open in South Derbyshire’s parks

Eureka Park Eureka Park

Tennis courts, table tennis, games areas, bowling greens, skate parks and crazy golf areas will be open from Saturday 27 June.

Anyone using these facilities must follow social distancing guidelines at all times – remain two metres from other people as far as possible, not to share equipment and to wash their hands or use hand sanitising gel where possible.

Councillor Andy Roberts, chairman of South Derbyshire District Council’s  housing and community services committee, said:

“We are pleased to be opening facilities in our parks and open spaces to allow people to exercise, have fun and improve their wellbeing.

“We ask anyone using facilities including tennis courts, bowling greens and skate parks to do so responsibly and follow all the guidelines at all times to help prevent the spread of coronavirus.”

Social distancing measures remain in place in our shopping areas: people should remain two metres apart when shopping, wash their hands regularly or use hand sanitiser where provided and use contactless payments where possible.
