Exhibitors urged to not miss out on Festival of Leisure action
South Derbyshire District Council is on the lookout for traders wishing to play their part in an annual event which attracts around 10,000 people.
The 2018 Festival of Leisure will take place at Maurice Lea Memorial Park at Church Gresley from 12.30pm to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday, June 23 and 24.
A thrilling Helter Skelter Western Show is booked for the Saturday which includes whip cracking and lasso displays and the Van Buren theatre show, as seen on the BBC’s The Generation Game will be making an appearance on the Sunday.
Festival organisers are promising the usual blend of high-velocity arena entertainment, sports taster sessions, children’s activities, hot food and live music to name a few but are also introducing two separate performance arenas to bring even more for the crowds to enjoy.
Malcolm Roseburgh, South Derbyshire District Council’s Cultural Services Manager, said:
“The Festival of Leisure is always an amazing weekend to be involved in, whether you’re an exhibitor taking part or a member of the public enjoying the wonderful spectaculars available.
“Places for exhibitors are usually in extremely high demand so we advise anyone thinking about taking part to do so as soon as they can.
“We’re always on the lookout for new and unusual additions to the line-up and we look forward to giving people another event to remember.”
