Experience crafts and cuisines at Swadlincote Food, Drink and Makers Fair
Shoppers are being invited to celebrate an array of local culture, crafts and cuisines during two days of free family-friendly fun.
The Swadlincote Food, Drink and Makers Fair will be making its debut by bringing together the crème de la crème of local business owners who grow, source, bake and make their own goods and products.
As well as arts, crafts, vintage and retro stalls, The Delph Public Square will host a prosecco and cider bar, Caribbean cuisine, street food kebabs, luxury marshmallows, sizzling barbecues, ice-creams, authentic Indian food and much more besides.
There is something for all of the family to enjoy, with face painting and a Ferris wheel available to offer a scenic view of the action taking place in the town.
Gail Archer, Manager at Swadlincote Tourist Information Centre, said:
“If you like unique art, quirky gifts or vintage finds, you will be spoilt for choice at the Swadlincote Food, Drink and Makers Fair.
“With a wide selection of must-try cuisines and tipples, along with fun activities for young people, there is entertainment on offer for everyone.”
The free event will run alongside the traditional market and takes place on Friday, July 27 and Saturday, July 28 between 9am and 6pm on The Delph.
Parking is free in Swadlincote town centre.
Cllr Martyn Ford, Leader of South Derbyshire District Council, said:
“We’re excited to welcome visitors to the very first Swadlincote Food, Drink and Makers Fair. It promises to be a popular occasion as we kick-start the summer holidays in style and showcase some of the wonderful local traders the District has to offer.”
The Fair is the first of several high profile events taking place over the summer, including Ay Up Me Duck Day on Friday, August 3 and the Ay Up Me Duck Hunt from Friday, July 3 to Friday, August 17.
