Half term activities on offer in South Derbyshire
A wide variety of activities are on offer in South Derbyshire to help young people to beat the boredom this half term.
Fun and friendly pop up sessions with a twist are being held during the week commencing February 19.
Attendees can go head-to-head in an inflatable football arena, put their skills to the test in a cricket match, play a giant game of connect four or try their hand at soft archery.
The sessions are organised by Active South Derbyshire.
Locations and times include:
- Eureka Park, Swadlincote – Monday, February 19 - 1pm to 3pm
- Maurice Lea Memorial Park, Church Gresley – Wednesday, February 21 - 1pm to 3pm
- Midway Community Centre – Thursday, February 22 - 1pm to 3pm
- Newhall Park – Friday, February 23 - 1pm to 3pm
Get Active in The Forest is also holding Bikeability sessions at Rosliston Forestry Centre on Tuesday, February 20.
Anyone aged eight and above can build their skills and confidence on two wheels - whether they are just starting out or want to use their bike more often. Bike hire is available and booking is essential, with a £20 deposit to be refunded on attendance.
Cllr Peter Smith, Chairman of Active South Derbyshire, said:
“This packed programme of activities ensures young people won’t be stuck for things to do during half term.
“Entertainment is guaranteed at our parks, while Bikeability offers the perfect opportunity to practice riding a bike in a traffic-free environment. There is something for everyone.
“We’re committed to helping young people to stay active and healthy and these activities are a fun and affordable option this half-term.”
Further information on activities is available on the Active South Derbyshire Facebook and Twitter pages.
