Musical first for park

Eureka Park Eureka Park

Eureka Park in Swadlincote is to host its first musical event, with choirs taking part in a performance designed to bring people together.

Springfield Junior School Choir, the Leaside Singers and the Singing for Health choir will all perform in the old bandstand area of the Midland Road park.

Everyone is invited to attend, completely free of charge, and people are welcome to take seating and a picnic to enjoy as they listen to the music. “We are hoping to attract people of all ages and to unite the community with music and song,”

said South Derbyshire District Council’s Chairman of the Housing and Community Services Committee Councillor Jim Hewlett. “There will be a chance for the audience to join in with the singing for the finale.”

Taking place on Tuesday 11 July 2017, the event starts at 6pm and runs until 7.30pm.

Further details are available by calling South Derbyshire District Council’s Community Engagement Officer Charlotte Brown tel: 01283 228739.
