Council Tax fraud alert

We have been made aware of a Council Tax demand fraud currently operating in South Derbyshire.

Someone may telephone you, claiming to act on behalf of South Derbyshire District Council, and state that your Council Tax Band has been altered.

They claim that you owe money and ask for your bank details. This is a scam and is in no way associated with the Council.

We very strongly advise in this instance that residents do not pass on any financial or personal details to these callers.

Please be vigilant at all times and report any concerns to the Action Fraud hotline on tel: 0300 1232040.
