Go wild this Easter and beyond
People of all ages are being invited to get in touch with nature at a top South Derbyshire tourist attraction.
The Environmental Education Project team at Rosliston Forestry Centre has announced a series of events that will showcase some of the stunning creatures that share the District.
There is also one of its ever-popular science days to discover.
Tuesday 11 April 2017 - Springwatch at Rosliston
Come to the classroom between 2pm and 3pm, then explore the site looking for spring birds, beasts and flowers. Bring along a camera to photograph what you find, then return to the classroom (by 3.30pm) for help with identification.
Activities suitable for those aged four to 12. £2.50 per group or set of equipment borrowed. Children must be supervised by an adult. Booking is not necessary.
Tuesday 18 April 2017 – The Early Bird
Increase your knowledge and understanding of birds at Rosliston – learn how they live and what they eat. Explore the site and visit the bird hide to see which birds you can spot. Come to the classroom between 2pm and 3pm. Bring along a camera to photograph what you find, then return to the classroom (by 3.30pm) for help with identification.

Saturday 29 April 2017 - Dawn Chorus
Meet at 5am at the forestry centre foyer for a leisurely walk with bird expert Dave Scattergood to discover the wonders of the dawn chorus.
Booking essential. Taking part costs £8 per person, which includes a hot snack and drink. Suitable for children aged over 12 and adults.
Saturday 29 April 2017 – Science Discovery Day
Join us for fun with science – have a go at simple experiments with the Environmental Education team, Rolls-Royce plc and Rosliston Astronomy Group.
The event runs between 11am and 4pm. Suitable for all ages, free to take part with possible small charge for some activities.
