Countdown is on to the big day
A South Derbyshire town is preparing for its very own ‘big day’ – and members of the public are being urged to come along and enjoy it.
Dozens of businesses are signed up for Swadlincote’s second annual Spring Wedding Fair, which takes place this weekend and promises to help future brides and grooms create special marital memories.
From stag and hen do providers to entertainers, wedding venues, photography and hair and honeymoon specialists, all will showcase their services between 11am and 4pm on Sunday 2 April 2017.
Swadlincote Town Hall, on The Delph market square, will be the event’s focal point, being transformed into a venue ready to hold a ceremony, complete with a parade of wedding cars outside the Town Hall where you will also be able to pick up your programme for the day.
A fashion catwalk will take place between noon and 2pm at the town hall, while locations including Sharpe’s Pottery Museum, in West Street will host exhibitors as the whole town is turned over into a one-stop shop of wedding products and advice.
In addition to special offers available at wedding related shops around the town there will be a ‘Follow Your Heart’ trail offering prizes to one lucky couple, and giving them the chance to splash out at a range of businesses.
The event is being organised by Swadlincote Town Team, a group of businesses, organisations, volunteers and residents who are working together to promote the vibrancy and prosperity of the town centre.
