Coronavirus testing for people with symptoms
Use this service to order a test if you have at least one of these three coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms:
- a high temperature
- a new, continuous cough
- you’ve lost your sense of smell or taste or it’s changed
This is called a PCR test.
You should not use this service if you’ve received a positive PCR test result in the last 90 days, unless you develop any new symptoms.

If you have symptoms, you and everyone you live with must immediately self-isolate.
Do not leave home until you get your test results, except to post a test kit or for a PCR test appointment.
Coronavirus testing for people with no symptoms
Use this service to order free packs of rapid lateral flow tests to be sent to your home in England.
A pack of tests contains seven tests. You can order one pack per household each day.
You can only use this service if:
- you do not have coronavirus symptoms
- you live in England
- you’re 18 or older
- you have not been told to self-isolate
- you cannot get tests from your work, school, college or university (ask them for rapid lateral flow tests)
Do not use a rapid lateral flow test if you have coronavirus symptoms. Get a PCR test and self-isolate.

Community testing in South Derbyshire
The community testing centre at Midway Community Centre closes on Thuhrsday 24 June but you can use the testing centre at Etwall Children's Centre, Hilton Road, Etwall, each Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 2pm until Sunday 27 June.
Children need to be aged 11 or over to get a test. Please make sure that anyone aged under 16 is accompanied by a parent or guardian.
If you have a smart phone please bring it with you, fully charged, to register for your test result. If you don't have a smart phone, staff will be available to help you on site.
Please bring a face covering as you'll need to wear it in the testing centre.
Those attending are asked not to bring bags or other items with them that they don't consider to be essential.
If you've tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 90 days please do not come for a test and please do not come if you've recently been in contact with someone who has tested positive for the virus.
