Money Sorted in D2N2 are available to give financial advice at the Civic Offices in Swadlincote between 1pm and 4pm fortnightly on a Thursday. Please telephone 01283 595778 to make an appointment.

Citizens Advice helps people sort out legal, money and other problems by providing free, independent and confidential advice.

StepChange, a national debt charity, will help you set up a debt management plan for free and can provide basic debt counselling anonymously online at Debt Remedy.

Energy schemes like Affordable Warmth and Heatsavers can help with fuel poverty.

Travel and discounts

If you're under 18 or over 60, you can apply for a b_line card or Derbyshire Gold Card. The cards will get you discounts, access to library services and discounted or free travel. If you can't use public transport, then community transport may be the answer. Dial-a-Bus schemes operate in many parts of Derbyshire.
