South Derbyshire Remembers
After a two-year absence the Remembrance Sunday Parade returned to Swadlincote earlier today (Sunday, 13 November).
The Royal British Legion and the 1211 (Swadlincote and District) Squadron ATC together with other uniformed groups and members of the public, paraded through Swadlincote town centre and arrived at the memorial gates at Eureka Park on Midland Road.
A short service of commemoration took place outside the gates at 10.50am which was followed by the playing of the The Last Post and an impeccably observed two-minute silence from the gathered crowds.
The commemorations concluded with prayer, the Natonal Anthem and the laying of wreaths.
A huge thank you to all that took part and attended.
